About GoodMove

GoodMove Removals & Storage was started in 1984 by Guy and Lynda Luard, who had previously run a removals business out in Australia before moving back to the UK. Guy and Lynda still run the company today. They had humble beginnings with just one lorry and an office in a shed attached to the Luard family home in Nayland, Suffolk. GoodMove is a family run business with long-standing employees. Gavin King, who is in charge of the largest HGV, started 20 years ago on a pushbike!

In 1989 the vehicles were fitted to take containers and storage facilities were offered. By 1995 the business had expanded well beyond the office space (and parking space) Nayland could offer, and GoodMove moved its office to its existing storage site at Holly Lane in Great Horkesley. As the company continued to grow, so did the facilities. In 1996 GoodMove became a member of the British Association of Removers.

Guy and Lynda are extremely mindful of the environment and aim to recycle wherever possible. The vehicles are washed with rainwater gathered in a 6000 litre submerged tank, and many of the packing materials are from recycled sources such as the packing paper and boxes.

In 2009 work was completed on a new purpose-built store to complement the existing container storage facility. Going forward, GoodMove is expanding its offices at the current site and, in keeping with its green policy, will be fitting Photovoltaic cells to generate electricity from the roofs of the buildings.

GoodMove Removals & Storage are an established, professional, highly-regarded company with over 33 years experience of handling removals in the UK and internationally, as well as home and business storage. At its heart, GoodMove is a family business with a friendly, personal touch.
